Amplify service
Amplify is a service that can help if you’re finding it hard to get eating disorder treatment for yourself or for someone you care about.
NHS staff work hard to give people the right support, but sometimes things don’t go as they should. You or your loved one might not be referred to a specialist service, assessed, or offered treatment, even though the guidance says that should happen. There can also be difficulties when services don’t work well together, when someone moves from child to adult services, or in other parts of the treatment process.
Amplify can help you find out whether the correct guidelines have been followed in your case. If they haven’t, we can support you to get the decision looked at again by:
• giving you advice on how to ask for a review
• sharing helpful information and letter templates
• contacting a service on your behalf, with your permission
Sometimes a decision has been made correctly but hasn’t been explained clearly. Amplify can also help you get answers and understand what’s happened.
Unfortunately, we can’t help if you are:
• under 16 (though we can support carers or family members of someone under 16)
• living outwith Scotland
• seeking treatment for ARFID
We also can’t help move you further up a waiting list.
If you think Amplify could support you, please use this form to tell us a bit about yourself and your situation. Please note we'll only contact you by phone if you leave a phone number below, otherwise contact will be by email. We’ll get back to you within 5 working days.
