Ask your MP to show their support

Westminster

Your local politician is elected to represent you and is your voice in Parliament. They can influence policy and funding, so it’s important they know that improving eating disorder treatment matters to you and how they can help.

One in five MPs are brand new following the recent General Election, so you may well have a new MP. Even if your previous MP has been re-elected, we need you to get in touch with them to ensure that action on eating disorders is on their agenda as they start their new term as your representative.

We have drafted a letter that you can send to your MP (if you’re a student, click here). This letter outlines key areas needing improvement, but personalised messages have much more of an impact. You are the expert in your experience in your area, and your MP’s constituency. Getting this across will make your letter more powerful and much more likely to make change. It doesn’t have to be long – just a few sentences about your experience can make massive difference.

Simply complete the form on this page; you’ll then be taken to the letter to send as it is or add your own experiences. Once you’re happy, just click ‘send’ and your letter will be emailed to your MP.
