Ask your MP to show their support

Westminster

Your local Member of Parliament is elected to represent you and is your voice in Parliament. They can influence policy and funding, so it’s important they know that improving eating disorder treatment matters to you and how they can help.

Your MP can relay concerns to the Minister for Care and Mental Health, so it’s important to let them know more about the difficulties faced by those with eating disorders, including the unacceptably long waits faced for treatment. We have drafted a letter that you can send to your MP via email, outlining the key areas that need to change.

We know that personalised messages have much more of an impact. You are the expert in your experience in your area, and your MP’s constituency. Getting this across will make your letter more powerful and much more likely to make change. It doesn’t have to be long – just a few sentences about your experiences can make a massive difference.

Simply complete the form on this page; you’ll then be taken to the letter to send as it is or add your own experiences. Once you’re happy, just click ‘send’ and your letter will be emailed to your MP.
